Young people with disabilities, older people between stages
in life, people of all ages jobless and rejected by society
have become minority groups.
But society's strength is measured by its weakest link. No
community can afford to ignore social solidarity, people or
minority groups. A top priority in a globalised society is
the integration of all its members.
Just as national economic and labour policies are visibly
pushing their limits, so socio-political initiatives must
also be set in a larger context. Transnational transfer of
knowledge and know-how is called for.
"Neue Arbeit" is setting new standards and introducing
initiatives with new, socially relevant goals. Since it was
founded, the "Neue Arbeit" employment model has
focused on reintroducing disabled people, the long-term unemployed
and older people into the world of work and thus integrating
them in society.
"Neue Arbeit" has done the pioneering work, acquired
considerable social and socio-psychological know-how and developed
key social expertise.
"Neue Arbeit" believes that the globalisation of
the economy should now be matched by international cooperation
between socio-politically committed initiatives and groups
at a transnational level. There should be a lively interchange
of knowledge, know-how and expertise in a transnational flow
of information so that new international concepts and initiatives
can be developed.
